Here are the most common questions about Pokpok, X-RAY, and how the analysis works.

Getting Started

Pokpok is a brand perception intelligence platform that diagnoses the gap between how humans and AI see your brand. You scan a product page or brand URL and receive scores across 17 brand markers — once from the perspective of a real shopper (HI), and once from the perspective of a generative AI engine (AI). The delta between those two scores is your blind spot, and closing it is what Pokpok helps you do.
Pokpok uses AI as one layer in a curated analytical framework — it is not a wrapper around ChatGPT. The core of the product is a proprietary 17-marker methodology built specifically for DTC and digital commerce brands. ChatGPT has no knowledge of your category’s competitive landscape, no structured brand-marker framework, and no way to compare your positioning against 15 category leaders. Pokpok does all three.
The name is a nod to the TV show — and the metaphor is deliberate. Just as Dr. House looks past surface symptoms to find the root cause of an illness, Pokpok looks past surface-level brand presentation to find the root cause of positioning problems. A low score is not the diagnosis; it is the symptom. The 5 Uncomfortable Truths in each paid report are the actual diagnosis — with prescriptions attached.
Yes — and it may be even more valuable pre-launch than post-launch. Before you enter a category, you can use Pokpok to scan the competitive landscape and see which brand marker territories are already saturated. That means you can make deliberate positioning choices before you spend money on content, packaging, or paid media — not after.
Pokpok is currently built for beauty and skincare, with deep category intelligence across 15 category leaders. The framework works for any DTC category. If your category is not yet live, contact the Pokpok team to request it — new categories are added based on demand.

X-RAY

About 60–70 seconds. You enter a URL, Pokpok fetches and analyses the page, and your HI and AI scores appear alongside your 6-metric breakdown. Previously scanned URLs are cached, so a repeat scan on the same URL is instant.
This is expected — and it is the whole point. HI scores (human perception) average around 70 across brands. AI scores (how a generative engine like ChatGPT or Gemini reads your page) average around 40. The gap between the two is not a failure; it is the insight. It tells you exactly where your brand signals are breaking down for AI-powered discovery — which matters more every month as shoppers use AI to find and evaluate products.
The Roast is an AI-generated critique of your page — direct, specific, and intentionally sharp. It surfaces what a generative engine actually thinks of your brand positioning. You can share your Roast on LinkedIn directly from the results page, and doing so earns you +3 extra free X-RAY credits to use on other URLs.
You have two options. First, share your X-RAY results (including your Roast) to earn +3 free credits and continue scanning. Second, upgrade to a paid Diagnose report, which gives you full 17-marker analysis, competitor benchmarking, and the 5 Uncomfortable Truths for €150. If you are scanning regularly, a Category Subscription at €50/month may make more sense.
No. Pokpok caches previously scanned URLs, so running the same URL again is instant and does not consume a credit. Credits are only used when you scan a new URL for the first time.
After you complete your purchase, your Diagnose report appears in your Pokpok dashboard within approximately 72 hours. You will receive an email notification when it is ready. The report includes your full 17-marker brand analysis, a Category Saturation Score for each marker, competitor benchmarking against 15 category leaders, and your 5 Uncomfortable Truths with specific prescriptions.
Pokpok scrapes publicly visible pages — product listings, homepages, and brand sites — to build the category intelligence used in your report. No private or proprietary data is accessed. Everything Pokpok analyses is the same content any shopper or AI engine can already see.
Yes — for Category Subscriptions (€50/month), you can specify the 15 brands you want to track. For one-off Diagnose reports, Pokpok selects the 15 most relevant category leaders based on your segment. If you have specific competitors in mind for a one-off report, contact the team before purchase.
Pokpok is built from scratch using modern AI tooling, with no large consulting teams, no project management overhead, and no agency margins. A traditional brand audit covering the same ground would cost tens of thousands of euros and take months. Pokpok delivers the same calibre of intelligence in 72 hours at a fraction of the cost — specifically because it was designed for indie DTC founders, not enterprise marketing departments.
Yes. Every finding in a Pokpok report comes with a specific prescription — not just a score or a vague recommendation. Examples include “Adopt The Hype Beast tone of voice across your PDP copy” or “Make the founder the hero of your brand story to own the Authenticity marker.” You leave the report knowing exactly what to change, not just that something needs to change.
